This piece’s simplified angular planes bristle with energy as a surreal scene of speckled eggs appears to float across their surface. Unlike previous designs in this series, this work is more personal in its origins.
“Talking Backwards is a reflection on our decision to start a family. A space shrouded in both healthy and toxic positivity. Each egg is a different Southern African birds' egg and symbolises birth and hope for the future – they vibrate with trepidation against a blue sky and pillowy clouds. It's about tension and potential, science and nature; it's also about trauma, but mostly joy.”
